What to Bring to your appointment:

• Copy of insurance card
• Copay (Cash or Credit Card)
• Referral from your primary care doctor, if required by your insurance
• List of medications
• Current glasses and contact lens prescriptions

We accept most major  medical insurances, however, we are not participating in any stand alone vision plans.  

Please call to verify the coverage on your insurance plan.

Many medical insurance plans do not cover the cost of a refraction to determine your best visual acuity and your glasses prescription; the approximate cost is $65. 

For patients without insurance, we offer a discounted examination fee of $185.

Do I need a referral?

• Please contact your insurance to see if a referral is necessary.

How long does an exam take?

• Please allow approximately an hour for a complete eye exam, though many visits do not take the full hour.

Will I be dilated?

• We do not routinely dilate every patient, however we do dilate for diabetic exams, flashes and floaters and other visual changes and eye problems.

Can I drive while dilated?

• This depends on your comfort level, but usually yes! Your near vision may be blurry, but distance vision is generally unaffected. You may be sensitive to sunlight though, so don't forget your sunglasses! (We have temporary dark lenses if you need them.)
